Communications Committee

What do we do for you?: The Communications Committee is responsible for the design, production, and advertisement of the MLSA, its committees, and student groups. It is also responsible for the maintenance of the MLSA website (including the Event Calendar) and the MLSA social media pages.

Benefits of working with this Committee: Joining the Communications Committee is a fantastic way to develop your creative skills and build a portfolio. The Committee’s work provides numerous opportunities to hone your communication, strategy, and creative skills – helpful for both your resume and real life. It might even give you a connecting point with creative clients in future practice!

Get in touch: Are you a catchy writer? Love social media? Have knowledge in web design? Or do you simply enjoy being creative?

Our Communications Committee is looking to expand! We currently have two available positions:
Social Media Expert: Our social media expert is primarily responsible for managing our MLSA Instagram and our MLSA Linkedin account. If you’ve got Instagram and/or LinkedIn, you’re probably already an expert.
Website Champion: Our website champion will be responsible for managing website pages and posts. The website champion will also be involved in website improvements. Brownie points if you know something about website building or website design. If you don’t know websites, we’ll teach you! The Communications Chair will be working on any website improvements with you, so you won’t be left to fend for yourself.
Again, experience in these areas is preferred but NOT required. We appreciate all creative minds! If you’re interested, please send us a note of interest and a little bit about yourself to rh.mlsa.communications@gmail.com by September 30th.

Special Note to MLSA Committees and Student Groups: We are available for graphic design requests! Please fill out the below form and return it to us as early as possible (at least 2 weeks in advance) to increase our ability to accommodate your request. Thank you!

Committee Chair: Frost Jiwa
