Meet Alyssa

The Visionary

(A.K.A. MLSA's Women's Rep)

Alyssa is currently a 2L student at Robson Hall and is the MLSA Women’s Representative for the 2022/2023 year!

Prior to law school, Alyssa graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Winnipeg.

Alyssa is a passionate member of the community, having held many volunteer positions over the years. Since 2018, Alyssa has held the Infinity Women Youth Representative position on both the Infinity Women Secretariat Board of Directors and the Manitoba Metis Federation’s Provincial Youth Advisory community. Through these positions, Alyssa has gained experience advocating on behalf of Metis women while planning and organizing events.

Alyssa’s volunteerism has extended into law school. In her first year, Alyssa volunteered with Pro Bono Students Canada and was a member of the Robson Hall Curling League. She was also appointed the 1L representative for the Environmental Law Group, which she will continue to be involved with as the group’s 2L representative for the 2022/2023 year.

As the Women’s representative, Alyssa looks forward to organizing women-specific events while creating a safe space to uplift women in the law. Alyssa hopes to be an approachable face for women to contact if they have concerns.

If you have any questions or want to reach out, Alyssa would be happy to chat!
