The Mama Bear

(A.K.A. MLSA's Students Providing Care Rep)

I am heading into 2L this year with my nearly 4-year-old in tow, as your Students Providing Care Rep! Prior to Robson Hall, I graduated from the University of Winnipeg’s CRS program after a 7-year career in finance. This past year was a massive challenge in finding balance with school and family, but I survived through sheer determination and 5 am wakeups! Anytime I am not studying, I can be found hiking with my mini (I can give some great reccos!), kayaking with my best friends, gardening, reading, cooking all the good food, volunteering, and trying my best to be a runner. I very much look forward to strengthening the relationships I made virtually and meeting the RH community. I’m always up for a conversation about family, school, life, or just about anything – hoping to see you all in person very soon. I’d love to talk constitutional law with someone besides the people in my house!

This role represents (largely) those who have children at home/in their care (including me), but there may be students providing care for older family members, etc. I look forward to getting to know everyone who is providing care, making sure our needs are met at the executive level, hosting support groups to discuss the unique caregiving challenges, and more!
