A01 Rep -
Marianna Pozdirca
Hey folks! I'm Marianna Pozdirca - you may know me as "that girl who's also a pharmacist" or (if you're in the A01 section) the person who made the spreadsheet with all the deadlines (that then almost immediately became outdated due to changing deadlines). I'm really excited to be the 1L rep for A01 this year!
Student associations and advocacy were the cornerstone of my university experiences so far, and I believe that, together, we can make law school the best experience it can be! Over my (short) time in law so far, I've been involved with Pro Bono Students Canada, completing a legal research project with the Manitoba Harm Reduction Network, as well as becoming a research assistant with Dr. Mary Shariff. You can usually find me catching up on pre-readings at Winnipeg's newest restaurants, coffee shops, and sometimes even Moose games!
In my role as 1L rep for A01, I correspond with all our professors and instructors, liaise between you and the MLSA, and regularly attend Law Faculty Council meetings. If you have any questions about the class rep role, any grievances to air, or need a new study spot recommendation, I'm here for you anytime :)
A02 Rep -
Katie McKenzie
Hello! My name is Katie McKenzie, and I am the 1L Class Representative for section A02 during the 2023/24 academic year.
Before attending law school, I completed my Bachelor of Arts at the University of Manitoba in Labour Studies and Sociology. Throughout my undergrad, I worked on a variety of research projects through the department of Indigenous Studies, looking at the history of the Residential School System. I have also worked on a variety of projects and community initiatives that contribute to the goal of achieving truth and reconciliation in various areas.
During my time at Robson Hall, I have also been involved with the Business Law Group as the 1L A02 rep and have been having a great time participating in the RH Curling League. Outside of school, I curl competitively, keep up with the Winnipeg Jets, and love going to concerts!
As 1L Class Rep, I am always willing to advocate for our class and share important information that will make your time in law school just a little bit easier. I am always happy to meet new people so feel free to reach out if you need anything!
A03 Rep -
Vanessa Smith
Hi everyone, my name is Vanessa Smith. I am in my first year of law school at Robson Hall, and I look forward to being the 1L Class Representative for section A03 for the 2023/24 academic year.
Prior to law school, I completed my Bachelor of Science here at the University of Manitoba. Since my time at Robson, I have been involved with PBSC and the RH Curling League. I am also a proud participant in Robson Hall’s Concentration in Access to Justice in French.
Outside of Robson, you can catch me spending time with friends or enjoying the outdoors. I am adventurous and like to take on new challenges. Most recently I have taken up tennis and golf.
As a 1L Class Rep it is my responsibility to act as a liaison between the students of section A03 and the MLSA, the Faculty of Law, and the University.
