Manitoba Bar Association Representative
Donald Plant
Hey Robson! My name is Donald Plant, and I am your Manitoba Bar Association Representative for the 2026/2027 academic year!
Before starting law school, I completed a BA in Political Science and Philosophy here at the University of Manitoba, before briefly working in government during an internship. Since beginning at Robson Hall, I have been fortunate enough to take part in many great groups and activities, including the IP & Tech Law Group, Robson Hall’s soccer team, and curling club. During my spare time, I enjoy all things music and movies — if you ever want a conversation about either, would love to have a chat. I am also a big soccer fan, and spent a lot of the summer watching FIFA games with friends and family.
As MLSA’s Representative to the Manitoba Bar Association (MBA), my main objectives are to facilitate a mentorship program between students and lawyers, and to put on a few events throughout the year for this program. These events are largely for networking purposes, and allow students to learn from their mentors, meet other lawyers, and ask questions about practice areas, tips for law school, or other topics. During my time in this program, I was fortunate to have a great mentor, and believe that this is an incredible opportunity to create long-term professional relationships.
If you ever have any questions about the program, or about law school in general, please feel free to get in touch and we can have a conversation. Here’s to a great year ahead!
