Ghost of the Outlands

aka the Out of Province Students’ Rep

Yomna Eid

Hi everyone!

I’m excited to serve as your Out of Province Representative for the 2024-2025 year! I’m so committed to this role, I vow to spend as much time as possible outside of the province this year.

A bit about me: I’m originally from Ottawa, where I completed two undergraduate degrees at the University of Ottawa (#1: health sciences & psychology, #2: criminology & law) and a Master’s at Carleton University, focusing on true crime research. I also work full-time for the federal government, which keeps me busy.

In my spare time, I’d love to say "you’ll find me …" but you probably won’t find me. I’m more of an introvert, so I’m usually reading, watching horror movies, perfecting my cookie recipes, or hanging out with my fellow bisons at the Winnipeg Zoo.

I chose Robson Hall for its close-knit community, the friendly Manitobans and my love for winter. As an out-of-province student myself, I understand the challenges of adapting to a new city, and I’m here to support you however I can.

Feel free to reach out anytime – I’d love to hear from you, especially if you’re thinking about venturing into a new market after law school or heading back to your home province.
