SPORTS COMMITTEE

What does this committee do for you?

The Sports Committee is responsible for organizing sporting events for Robson Hall students. We connect students to teams and events within the Manitoba legal community and promote the importance of physical and mental health as a part of the law school experience.

Why should you join this awesome committee?

The Sports Committee provides members with the opportunity to connect with other Robson Hall students, network with lawyers in a more relaxed setting, and to enjoy being active!

Hey friends! I’m Ken Vong (he/him), one of the co-chairs of the MLSA Sports Committee. Prior to law school, I received my Bachelor of Commerce from the Asper School of Business, and studied abroad at Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea.

At Robson Hall, I am the chair of the Canadian Association of Refugee Lawyers (CARL) chapter and a member of the squash and curling club. I also play in the lawyer league for both hockey and soccer.

Outside of school, I enjoy grabbing food with friends and (surprise surprise) watching sports. I root for the Jets, Atlético Madrid, and whatever NBA team Jimmy Butler is on.

Along with Matt, I am excited to give Robson Hall students many opportunities this year to take a break from studying and connect over sports!

Hey y'all! My name is Matt (he/him), and I’m excited to be one of your Sports Committee co-chairs for the 2024-2025 year.

Before coming to law school, I achieved a Bachelor of Commerce degree in finance from the Asper School of Business. While at Robson Hall, I volunteered for PBSC, captained the Robson Rockets, and was a member of last year’s Sports Committee.

In my spare time, I enjoy playing volleyball, softball, swimming, and practicing yoga. I’ve also learned how to curl through playing in the Robson Hall Curling League.

I’m looking forward to helping organize some amazing sporting events this year. If you’d like to get involved, feel free to reach out!
