The Middle Man
aka UMSU Rep
Brett Williams
Hi Robson! I’m Brett Williams, a 1L and your 2024-2025 UMSU Representative.
Before law school, I completed a BA Honours in Political Studies at UofM and was an executive in the InterVarsity student group. Between my undergrad and law school, I worked as a manager at the Active Living Centre, where I served on the Faculty of Kin & Rec's Strategic Planning Committee. I’m passionate about volunteering and am actively involved with Nassau Street Church, where I’ve interned and currently work in their Jr. Youth ministry.
Originally from the U.S., I spent much of my childhood in Central Siberia, where my father did ministry work, before moving to Winnipeg in 2010. I love travel and spent the spring hiking across Europe. My other hobbies include running, board games, and movies.
I ran for this position to advocate for Robson students and to ensure UMSU remains accountable. As the MLSA’s UMSU representative, I attend board meetings and vote on behalf of our community. I communicate the needs of Robson students to the UMSU Board of Executives and work to ensure that your needs are being heard and met. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to reach out—I’m here to represent you!
