2026 MLSA Election
Jacob Sidhu
Running for: MLSA President
Talia Taras
Running for: Senate Representative
Dear Law Students:
My name is Talia Taras, and I am running to serve as the Student Representative to the University Senate for the Faculty of Law.
I care deeply about the academic experience at Robson Hall and about ensuring that law students have a meaningful voice in university decision-making. The University Senate makes decisions that directly affect our education, including academic regulations, grading and examination rules, and other policies that shape our experience as students. It is important that the realities of a professional program like law are understood when those decisions are made.
As Senate Representative, my goal would be to ensure that the perspectives and needs of law students are clearly represented. I want to make sure that our concerns are heard and that important Senate decisions are communicated back to students.
I bring experience in rights-based advocacy and student representation, and I previously served as the Part-Time Student Representative. Through my academic and advocacy work, I have developed strong skills in listening carefully, communicating clearly, and representing student interests responsibly.
If elected, I will work to represent law students’ academic interests at Senate meetings, raise concerns that affect our academic experience, and ensure that decisions reflect the realities of studying in a professional faculty.
I am committed to thoughtful and responsible representation and to making sure that law students’ perspectives are heard.
I would sincerely appreciate your vote and the opportunity to represent the Faculty of Law at Senate.
Thank you for your consideration,
Talia Taras, B.A.
